Has the Capital One Bank and Quickbooks Online sync issue been resolved?

The status of the investigation is still in progress, dlodge.

For now, we're unable to give you a time frame as to when this gets fixed. Rest assured that our engineers are working on an immediate resolution. If you haven't already, I would recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Support Team so you'll be added to the list of affected users which will enable you to receive updates.

In the meantime, we can manually upload your bank transactions to your QuickBooks account. You can go to your bank's website and follow the instructions on how to download them. I've listed our supported file formats below:

  • Comma-Separated Values (CSV)
  • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Quicken (QFX)

You follow these steps in uploading the file:

  1. Select Banking from the sidebar menu, then click the Banking tab.
  2. Hit the Upload transactions button.
  3. Click Browse, then choose the file you downloaded from your bank.
  4. Select the account you want to upload the transactions into from the QuickBooks account ▼ drop-down menu, then select Next
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions, then click Next.
  6. When you’re ready, hit Let's go.

I'll be right here to keep helping if you have any other concerns or questions about banking.

Has the Capital One Bank and Quickbooks Online sync issue been resolved?

I can download the transactions manually. But that isn't the point of the ongoing issue. I pay a monthly subscription fee for QBO and I cannot use the automation to help streamline management of my business. Is there a fix action pending to correct this problem? According to the message boards, it has been happening in one form or another since January 2020. We are approaching one year.

Has the Capital One Bank and Quickbooks Online sync issue been resolved?

I can download the transactions manually. That is not the point of the complaint. I pay a monthly fee for QBO to leverage the automated features which used to work. Now they do not. It calls into question whether the monthly subscription fee is worth it given that I have to manually enter data into the application. According to the message boards, this issue has been on going in one form or another since January 2020. We approaching one year that this problem has affected your users.

I understand your frustration and want to make sure your books have accurate records in QuickBooks Online, dlodge.

Our Online Banking Team is working with your bank to fix the connection between these two programs. We don't anticipate a change to this behavior while we're constantly evolving to provide the best possible banking experience.

Manually uploading transactions is the workaround to keep your bank statement accurate in QuickBooks.

You can also check with your bank for messages, notifications, or alerts about the connection. I also suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Team so you'll receive updates regarding the issue via email.

Here's how to get in touch with them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?) at the top right.
  3. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  4. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

As tax season is coming, I'm adding this link to help you get ready: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.
