When you choose the Pre-fill data option, the system will automatically enter budget information using your actual recorded income and expenses. You'll no longer have to upload it.
On the other hand, the ability to import a prepared budget whether it is an excel or .csv file is only available in the QuickBooks Online Advance version. Here's how:
- Go to the Gear Icon.
- Choose Budgeting.
- Select the Import Budget button.
- You can click on the Sample.Csv link to ensure that your budget file has the correct file format.
- Click the Browse button.
- Locate your prepared budget.
- Click Next.
- Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the process.
Lastly, if you're using QuickBooks Online Plus, you can manually create a budget in the system. You can also import your customers and vendors list, chart of accounts, bank transactions, products and services, and custom invoices.
