When you transfer your QuickBooks Desktop company file to QuickBooks Online (QBO), your transactions with 3 different currency types will not be converted. Only your multicurrency preferences will.
Before importing, please note that it's recommended to move your list instead of your company file if you already set up payroll in QBO since some of it won't be converted because of feature differences.
If you already have your desktop file ready, let's proceed in importing your company data to QBO.
Here's how:
- Log in to your desktop account as an admin.
- Press Ctrl+1 to open the Product Information window, then press Ctrl+B+Q.
- Select Start your export.
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
- If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop, select Yes to bring them over and select No if you want to set up new items later in QuickBooks Online.
- Select the Choose online company drop-down to choose the QuickBooks Online company that you'll be transferring your data.
- Select Continue.
- Type in “Agree”, then select Replace.
- Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data.
- Click Replace.
