How can I adjust a PayPal account which didn't import the amount in the account when I connected it with Quickbooks?

Hello there, @flemingtoncarmel.

Let's get this sorted out. I have some information that should help you adjust the Paypal account.

There are a few things to check with your Paypal account sync with QuickBooks. First, review the settings and mapping which allows you to view/edit the accounts from Paypal that map to the appropriate accounts in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. In the left navigation bar, go to Apps.
  2. Click the My Apps or Firm apps tab.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow for Action and choose Settings.
  4. Select Edit in the App Settings section.
  5. In the drop-down for Customer details to import from Paypal, select the preferred option to import customer details.
  6. Click Save changes.

For more information, check out the following article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Apps/Modify-settings-for-Sync-with-PayPal/m-p/185787.

In case the settings and mapping are correct, try to manually import your Paypal transactions into QuickBooks Online. The manual import can be used to import transactions from the last 18 months.

Here's how to use the manual import feature vis Sync with Paypal:

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. In the left navigation bar, go to Apps.
  3. Click the My Apps or Firm apps tab.
  4. Locate the Sync with PayPal app card.
  5. Select Settings on the Sync with PayPal app card.
  6. Select Run in the Manual Import section.
  7. Then, set the date range and select Run.

Please note that, the re-import will create new transactions and this might cause duplicates if you have not deleted the previously imported transactions.

The following article contains additional insights on this matter: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Apps/Sync-with-Paypal-Manual-import-overview/m-p/185767.

On the other hand, when using the Connect to PayPal app, you have to check that the transaction is a 'balance affecting' transaction in PayPal and is not a hold/release. You can refer to this article for more in-depth information about Connect to Paypal: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Payments/FAQs-Connect-to-PayPal/td-p/185810.

You should be able to correct the imported transactions from your Paypal account with the above information. Keep me posted on how things go and if you have other questions about QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Wishing you the best!
