How do I add a new bank account - manually. No connectivity to online banking. Just for reconciliation purposes.

Hi -netterortizmd-c!

There's another option called manual upload using a web connect file. I'm happy to share details about it.

First, you'll want to download your bank transactions into a supported web connect file with a supported format. Then, upload them to the Banking page in QuickBooks. Here's an article to guide you through the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

If you have other concerns, feel free to go back to this thread.

Hello.  Thanks for the reply, but no, this didn't solve the problem.  I am unable to download any transactions as the account is closed.
Accordingly, I just needed to create a bank account and add transactions to the register manually.

Yes, you can simply create a new bank account and add transactions to the register manually. To manually add a bank account in QuickBooks Online. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Select Accounting from the left menu.
  2. Choose Chart of Account.
  3. Click New, then fill out an Account Type, Detail Type, and Beginning Balance.
  4. Lastly, select Save and close.

Then, start uploading your bank transactions in QuickBooks. For detailed steps, please see: Manually upload transactions.

After adding the transactions, you can start categorizing or adding them into your books. When you're done, you have the option to start reconciling your bank statement. I'd also recommend reading this article for a reconciliation guide: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
