How do I change the reconciliation date? I marked it through 8/31/2020 instead of 7/31/2020.

Welcome to the Community, @tmiller17112.

I can guide you how to change your reconciliation date. You’ll want to click the Edit info in the reconciliation page to change the date. Let me walk you through the steps in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

If you haven’t completed the reconciliation, you can still change the ending date. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select the Reconcile tab.
  3. Choose the bank account from the Account drop-down menu.
  4. Click the Resume reconciling button.
  5. Then click the Edit Info button located in the upper right-hand corner.
  6. Change the Ending Balance and Ending Date.
  7. Click Save.

If you’re already done with the reconciliation, you’ll want to leave the date as it is. Changing the date of a reconciled account is not possible in QBO. Or, you can undo the reconciliation and correct the date.

To undo the reconciliation, you can refer to this article that can guide you through the process: Undo and remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.

I’d also recommend consulting with your accountant for guidance in undoing the reconciliation. This way, we’ll ensure your accounts are correct after making these changes.

Let me also add this article that guides you in setting up rules to easily categorize your bank transactions: How to set and use banking rules for downloaded transactions.

I’m always around if you need further help with your accounts. Just leave a reply with more details. Keep safe.
