How do I delete/remove Envelopes created in the Cash Flow tab?

Hi there, steven-ruiz-crow.

As mentioned by @gayatriluthfias20, you can just transfer the money out from the created envelope. I'd be glad to walk you through the steps on how to do it:

  1. From the Cash Flow menu, select the Envelopes section.
  2. Select View next to the envelope you want to take the money out of.
  3. In the Current balance section, select Transfer money.
  4. Select Transfer out.
  5. In the From field, make sure you selected the correct envelope.
  6. In the To field, select your QuickBooks Cash account. You can also select one of your connected bank accounts, but the transfer will take a little longer.
  7. Enter the amount you want to take out of your envelope.
  8. Click Next, then select Continue when the transfer request finishes.

You can learn more details about taking money out of an envelope in this article.

How do I delete/remove Envelopes created in the Cash Flow tab?

I should mention I am using the Desktop version for Windows 10. So I created the Envelopes with no money and did not connect them with a bank account. I did what you told me to by removing the name of the Envelope and then saving. When I do this I get and as shown in the attachment.

How do I delete/remove Envelopes created in the Cash Flow tab?

Hi there, @steven-ruiz-crow!

It would be a good idea to run the Verify/Rebuild tool. This tool allows QuickBooks to self-identify data integrity issues that can cause unusual behaviors and helps resolve them.

Follow the steps below on how to verify data:

  1. On the top menu, click File.
  2. Choose Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.
    1.JPG
  4. Click OK when you see the message, QuickBooks detected no problem with your data.
  5. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you'll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
  6. Click Close or View Errors and take note of the specific error message.

Next, here's how to rebuild data:

  1. On the top menu, click File.
  2. Choose Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.

  4. Click OK if you receive a prompt to back up your company file.
  5. Click OK when you get the message, Rebuild has completed and proceed to the next step.
  6. Run Verify Data again to make sure there's no error.

Then, update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release from our official website.

  1. Go to the Downloads & Updates page.
  2. Select the country, product, & version and click the Search button.
  3. Click the Get the latest updates link.
  4. After downloading the updates, navigate to the Downloads folder of your computer and double click the update file to initiate the installation process.
  5. Follow the prompts on the screen to install the updates.
  6. Restart your computer after the update is installed successfully.

QuickBooks also offers budgeting and forecasting tools to help you plan and make smart business decisions.

Please let me know how it goes or if you have any follow-up questions. I'll be here if you need further assistance. Just leave a comment below.
