It's nice to see you here in the Community. I can share some information on how you can import your client's .QBX file created in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To do this, you need to convert the .QBX to a regular company file (.QBW) first. Here's how:
1. Open your client's file, then go to File menu at the top.
2. Pick Send Company File and Accountant's Copy.
3. Choose Convert Accountant’s Copy to Company File/QBW, then OK.
4. Select a location where you want to save it, then select Save.
5. Click OK.
That should do it! Please let me know how it goes or if I can be of additional assistance on the comment section below. I'd be glad to answer if you have any follow-up questions about the process. Take care and enjoy the rest of the day.
How do I import a client .QBX file created in desktop to my QuickBooks Online?
Thanks for stopping by the Community for assistance. I'm happy to help, if you have QuickBooks Online Accountant, follow these steps below to transfer your client list over from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
Review the profile in the Transfer to section. This is the one you want to move clients to. To change it, select Change firm and then the profile. Then select Next.
In the Transfer from section, select the profile you want to move clients from. Then select Next.
Select the checkboxes for the clients you want to move. You can select everyone or specific clients. This includes wholesale QuickBooks Online clients. Note: You can't move clients with wholesale billed payroll, Payroll Tax Online, or Intuit Tax Online. These features are attached to your original accountant profile.
When you're ready, select Transfer clients.
The transfer is automatic. When it's finished, select Done or Move more clients if you want to move clients to another profile.
