How do I import/upload information to setup QBSE that I exported as Excel files from QBO before I closed that account? (I needed the Schedule C option for taxes)

I'll help you get the option for Schedule C, greg42.

For now, we're unable to import reports or transactions from QBO to QBSE. The program only allows importing of banking transactions (csv file) as well as importing trips from MileIQ and Google trips. Please follow these steps on how to import banking transactions:

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Imports.
  2. Look for the bank account and the click Import older transactions link under the Action column.
  3. Click Browse and select the correct csv file.
  4. Click Continue and select OK.

Once imported, proceed to categorizing them as business income and expenses for QuickBooks to include them in calculating your estimated taxes. Please use this article as a guide: Categorize and edit transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can also follow these steps to import trips from MileIQ and Google if you have an account with them:

  1. Go to the Miles menu.
  2. Click the drop-down list beside Add Trip, then select Import MileIQ trips or Import Google trips.
  3. Follow the succeeding steps to import the data.

Otherwise, you'll need to manually record them to have your vehicle deduction calculated. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Miles menu.
  2. Click Add trip.
  3. Enter all the details and click Save.

Lastly, follow these steps to get your Schedule C tax details after importing or recreating all transactions:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Look for Tax Summary or Tax Details.
  3. Click View or Download.
