I have some information that I'm sure you'll find helpful for moving transactions to the Banking tab. The only items that appear in the Banking section are those that have been automatically downloaded from your financial institution or uploaded using a .CSV file the bank provides. These items are typically linked to their manually-entered equivalent from the Bank Register using the matching process, which you can learn more about from our guide on the matter here.
If you have items in your register that you'd like to be matched up with an item in the Banking section, you'll need to upload them from your bank's website. The quickest way to do this is with a transaction file that they provide, I'll outline the process below:
Uploading Transactions with Bank Files
Begin by navigating to your bank's website and signing in. Locate your account's transaction list and look for a Download ⇩ button. Be sure to select one of the supported formats from the picture below.
In QuickBooks Online, click the Gear icon (⚙) and select Import Data. Choose BankData.
Click Browse and navigate to where you saved the bank file. Follow the on-screen instructions from there to map and import your data.
These instructions are also available from our extensive guide on uploading bank transactions for your benefit. Once you've done this, you can find the imported items on the Banking tab > For Review tab. As long as the Date and Amount of these items match the ones in your Bank Register, you can click Match to link them together.
That's all there is to it! Please know I'm always available here to lend a helping hand, I want to be your number one resource for QuickBooks. Thanks for dropping in, very best wishes.
