How do I record a SEP contribution? Others have asked before me, but there still doesn't seem to be an answer. There is an option for SARSEP in Retirements, but not SEP.

Greetings, cricketmitchell.

Currently, the following retirement plans are supported in QuickBooks Online: SARSEP, 401(k), SIMPLE 401(k), 403(b), SIMPLE IRA, Roth 401(k), Roth 403(b).

One option you have is to speak with your accountant about another possible way of recording SEP. They'll be able to tell you what's the best course of action for this specific type of transaction, where to enter the contributions to get them to report to the correct line, and what amount to report.

If you need additional information about the retirement plan deductions and contributions, as well as how to set them up, assign and remove them: Retirement plan in Online Payroll.
