Hi there, tschill. Let me provide some helpful information before you disconnect your bank account connected to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
When you disconnect your bank from QuickBooks, all uncategorized transactions in the For Review tab gets deleted. It's best to disconnect your bank account if your transactions are already categorized.
Here's how:
- Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
- Select the tile for the bank account.
- Click the pencil ✎ icon, then select Edit account info.
- Hit the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
- Tick Save and Close.
However, if you want to unlink your bank account from your chart of accounts, you cannot do it directly. Instead, you can make your account inactive.
Here's how:
- From the menu bar, Go to Transctions.
- Select Chart of accounts, and then look for the account you want to make inactive.
- Click Make it inactive.
