How do two accounts which are linked under the same company become unlinked, and set-up as individual accounts for separate companies?

I can share some information on how to create individual accounts or companies, @ABS III.

Can you tell us more about how these accounts were linked under the same company? That'll help us provide the best resolution to this concern.

One company file is equivalent to one subscription. You'll need to have another QuickBooks Online account to create a separate company.

To create a new company or a new subscription:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks pricing page and select the subscription you want.
  2. Follow the prompts until you reach the Create an Intuit account page.

To put this company under your existing Intuit ID:

  1. In the Create an Intuit account page. Scroll to the bottom and look for the small text that says Adding a company to an existing account? and click on Sign in.
  2. Enter the same ID and password you already use for QuickBooks on the next page.

Check this article for more information: Create or add another company.

Once done, you can simply click on the Gear icon ⚙️ and select Switch company to move from one account to the other.

That should do it. Let me know if you need further assistance in creating a new company by leaving a comment below. I'm always glad to help in any way I can. Have a great rest of the day.
