How do you remove payment pre-authorizations?

I ran into a payment pre-authorization from 3 weeks ago. I went to receive payments and a window popped up asking me to capture one but it has already been paid using ACH. I want to run a report to find all the pre-authorizations and I want to remove them so the pop up goes away. Please see image for pop up...

Yes, you can delete that pre-auth transaction if it's an error. On your keyboard, simply press CTRL+D while you're on that Customer Payment page to delete the transaction.

Hello there, @Kimbre,

 

Thanks for providing a screenshot. Right now, we're unable to pull up a report that shows the list of pre-authorizations in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

What you can do is uncheck the Process payment box on the Customer Payment page. This way, you won't be able to process online payment since the customer already paid via ACH. Then, continue recording the payment by clicking Save & Close.

How do you remove payment pre-authorizations?

When I went to the audit trail I was able to find the pre-auth transaction. See attached. The process payment box is grayed out. I suppose I could delete it as we learned it was just an error.

Thanks for all your help! BTW, Does QBE have the ability to run a report showing pre-auths?

The option to pull up a report that shows a list of pre-authorization is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop. In the meantime, you'll want to open those Customer Payment that has Available Authorizations and remove them.

 

While the report isn't available yet, I'll ensure to pass along your feedback to our developers. This way, they'll be able to know what's useful to your business. They can consider adding this feature for future product updates that can help other users like you.
