How do I "activate online services" for bank feeds?


See attached file. Quickbooks doesn't let me click on "activate online services".


I am trying to get bank feeds.


Does anyone have a solution?

How to activate online services - for bank feeds

You've come to the right place, @Computer1000.


I'll help make sure you can use bank feeds in QuickBooks without issues.


First, let's check if your bank is one of the financial institutions (FI) that supports online services for QuickBooks. To do that:


  1. Go to the Banking menu at the top.
  2. Select Bank Feeds, and then choose Participating Financial Institutions.
  3. On the pop-up window, you'll see the list of supported banks.

If your bank doesn't offer online banking services for QuickBooks, you can ask your FI to sign up through

Second, let's make sure to update your QuickBooks to have the latest features and needed patches. If the same thing happens, you can open a different or a sample company file to test if you'll get similar results.


To open a sample file:


  1.  Open your QuickBooks, and run it as administrator (Right-click the QuickBooks icon, and choose Run as Administrator.)
  2. On the No Company Open screen, select a sample file from the Open a sample file drop-down.
  3. Then, access the said option again to enable your online services.

If the said option works this time, then the original file might be damaged. In this case, I recommend running the QuickBooks Verify and Rebuild tool. This can help identify and repair data issues.


Here's how to Verify your data (original company file):


  1. Go to the File menu at the top.
  2. Select Utilities, and then choose Verify Data

If the Verify data detects an issue, you can Rebuild your file. For more info about the process, please check out this resource: Verify and Rebuild data in QuickBooks.


Once everything's good, you can begin adding and matching your entries to make sure they go to the right account and prevent duplicates. After that, you can proceed with reconciling your account to ensure the accuracy of your books.
