When connecting your bank account with QuickBooks, you'd want to make sure that you have an active account. You need not worry, you can download your bank transaction and import it in QuickBooks using a CSV file.

Thank you for standard help reply number 3. Now, back to original question: "...account is closed,t cannot be linked." So, how do you create it in online QuickBooks?
Hi there, @karel-mergl-gmai.
Thanks for actively responding. QuickBooks will automatically create a Cash account to post your recently imported transactions.
The steps shared by my peer above will get you in the right direction. You'll want to rename the Cash account in the Banking page. Here's how:

Hi,
Thank you for the further explanation, but still there are issues. The Cash account was created, but it shows no transactions. I tried a few CSV imports yesterday. To my active accounts, it all worked. This CSV from the closed checking account, nothing. I just tried it again, but despite the QB system reading up 385 transactions, while telling me it skipped one due to duplicity, it does not put them in the Cash account.
So, not sure, how should I proceed now?
Thanks,
Kare Mergl
Hi,
So, finally QuickBooks import returned an error message. I went back and corrected couple of the cells to fit proper format. Now, all is imported and that is great. Next step though is that the cash account stays as cash and does not show up on the list of bank accounts, which makes sense, but, where can I edit this account? Or better yet, its properties?
Thank you,
Karel
