How to categorize deposits into my bank account

Hi all, by way of apology, I'm a complete newbie to QBO, and accounting for that matter.

I just linked my bank account to QBO.

In the register, I see that QBO wants me to select a "transfer account" for deposits to my bank account from Shopify and Amazon. The drop down menu gives me a bunch of choices, but I don't know which one to choose?

Similarly, when I transferred money/deposits out of my biz bank account to my personal account (not attached to QBO), which transfer account do I choose?

Thanks!

How to categorize deposits into my bank account

Hello there, BADboy.

You'll be getting a prompt if you're using a third-party app like Shopify and Amazon. If you're not using one, you can only select the Add or the Find Match button from the Banking.

How to categorize deposits into my bank account

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for getting back to me with those articles--I'll be devouring them shortly.

For someone with zero bookkeeping, accounting and QBO experience (I just started my online biz 45 days ago), when I connected my biz checking and credit card account and saw in the register all those alien fields and terminology, I was paralyzed with fear and dread--didn't know what to do or who to turn to. So thank you again.

Here though is an unrelated question: after I posted by "plea" I couldn't find it anywhere--still can't. It's not under unanswered, or recent--yet there were many other posts after mine that were showing. I couldn't even find where to ask how to use the community. But you apparently saw it. Can you please shed some light on how to use the Community Q&A to see my posts and any answers that come in?

Thanks again!
