How to correct a banking deposit error?

We took a deposit to the bank for $13350.00 - due to an adding error, the actual deposit amount was $13335.00...the bank shows the deposit amount, then a withdrawal error correction for $15.00

What do I need to do in QB to apply this $15 to my deposit? At this point, I have created a bank deposit for the $13335.00 amount (to match my checks) and nothing further.

How to correct a banking deposit error?

Greetings, @gcicabinets.

Thank you for visiting the Community. I can help you in correcting your bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

If the $15.00 amount shows separately on the $13335.00 deposit, you can create a deposit of $13335.00 and another $15.00 for the withdrawal. On the other hand, if you wish to apply the $15.00 amount to the deposit, you can create a deposit with $13350.00 and another line item of -$15.00 so you'll get a total amount of $13335.00.

I'd also suggest getting in touch with your accountant to look over the deposit afterward to ensure that your accounting is correct. You can also use this article as your reference: How to record bank deposits.

That's it. Let me know if there's anything else you need by adding a comment below. Have a good one.
