How to download previously removed bank transactions?

Is there a way to download old transaction that had been removed?  The instructions say you cannot except by starting a new company file.   My downloads(bank feeds - Classic mode) are working fine.  It says my account is up to date.  I tried to import a webconnect file(for past data) but received the "cannot verify the financial institution".

I also tried :

1. Open the web connect file with the text edit.

2. Select edit>find>find and replace.

3. In the search field enter <FITID>

4. In replace field enter <FITID>1

5. Select "Replace All", then done.

6. Import the web connect file into quickbooks (file menu-> Utilities-> import->web connect)

But no joy.  It there any other way than to create a new company file?

How to download previously removed bank transactions?

I'm glad you reached us out, Kev007,

There's no need to create a new company file. I've got another way for you to import old bank transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. You can import those transactions through IIF files.

I'll guide you through the whole process below:

  1. Go to the File menu and choose Utilities.
  2. Click Import and select IIF Files.
  3. Choose Import IIF.
  4. Locate the file, then select OK.
  5. Once the import is successful, you'll see the numbers of list and transactions imported. Press Done.

To know more about about how IIF woks in QuickBooks, feel free to check out the following resources:

QuickBooks Desktop has released a newly improved IIF importing process for 2019 and later versions. I've got this article handy to be more familiar with this: Improved IIF Import in QuickBooks 2019 and later versions.

How to download previously removed bank transactions?

How do I get an IIF file?  Capital one offers .qbo and csv.  Can I convert one to the IIF?

I am running 2019 QB desktop pro.

How to download previously removed bank transactions?

The Intuit Interchange Format (IIF) is a file QuickBooks uses to import or export lists or transactions, Kevin.

You can use a converter to help you change the .qbo or CSV file to IIF, and you can visit our Marketplace for the list of third-party apps that'll help you with the conversion.

You may also download a sample .IIF file to practice and use as templates for importing transactions. Just open the articles my colleague provided to guide you.
