How to get bank transactions to import

Let me share some troubleshooting steps so you’ll be able to download your transactions, @usernrdunn.

If you connect your online bank accounts in QuickBooks Online, the program will automatically download the last 90 days of transactions recorded by your bank. However, these transactions aren’t in QuickBooks just yet. Once they’re in the Bank Feed, you’ll still need to categorize these imported transactions so they're recorded to the correct accounts.

If the transactions in online banking are not syncing to QuickBooks Online, you can try running a manual update.

Here’s how:

  1. From the left menu, select Banking.
  2. On the Banking page, select Update.
  3. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials and select Continue update.

You can also use this article on how to manually upload transactions if you want to enter older data to QuickBooks: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once you’ve successfully downloaded your transactions, you can now match and categorize the transactions and then reconcile accounts to ensure your books are accurate.

Let me know if you have follow-up questions about your bank transactions or if you have any other concerns by leaving a comment below. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.
