How to re-import my Quickbooks Premier data to Quickbooks Online? Successfully did a previous import. Now get error stating to delete all employees in QBO

Hi there @office142,

You can purge your QuickBooks Online account and start over. Let me walk you through how.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online
  2. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. Delete all the text after the last / and enter purgecompany (Example: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany).
  3. Type Yes to confirm. Then, select Wipe data.

Once deleted, you can move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online again. I'm also adding these handy articles for your reference.

Should you need help with anything else, please reach out to me anytime. I'd be happy to assist you further. Thanks for visiting us today and happy weekend.

How to re-import my Quickbooks Premier data to Quickbooks Online? Successfully did a previous import. Now get error stating to delete all employees in QBO

I recently imported my clients QB Pro 2018 data to their new QBO pro account.    But they are still using QB desktop and using QB online as test/training company.

I want to do final conversion this week.

The info in your answer seems inapplicable - as there is no browser or URL when I'm in my QBO application.    I have also seen that if I export/import data in the first 60 days it will just overwrite the existing QBO data?

Hi there Andy,

The steps provided above are correct and you're correct that there is no URL in the QBO app. So what you need to do is sign into the QBO account via your web browser, rather than using the app. Click the QuickBooks Online website and sign in with the company credentials there. When you do that, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague above to purge the company file as long as its under 60 days old. When that's complete you can follow the guide on converting from Desktop to Online

If you have any other questions in the meantime, you can post below. Thank you for your time and have a lovely afternoon.
