I added trasactions to the wrong bank register is there a quick easy way to move them over to the right bank account or do i need to start over ?
I have a bunch of options to help you move your transactions to the correct bank account.
Yes, there is an easy way to move them over to the right bank account. However, it depends on how the transactions were added. Was it done through a CSV file? If that's the case, you'll simply want to undo the transactions in the Banking page. Here's how:
Go to the Banking page, then click the Categorized tab.
Check the transactions you want to remove from the bank register.
You can also check the box column to select all transactions.
Go to your Chart of Accounts and find the bank register where the file was uploaded to.
Click the down arrow icon under ACTION.
Check the box under File Upload Account.
Click Save and Close.
Delete the transactions from the For review tab:
Go to the Forreview tab
Check the transactions you want to delete.
Click the Exclude button.
Go to the Excluded tab.
Check those transactions again, then hit Delete.
If those transactions were added manually, you'll simply want to open them one by one from the bank register and edit them:
Go to your Chart of Accounts.
Find the bank account, and click on Viewregister.
Select the transactions you want to move, then click the Edit button.
Change the bank account under the Deposit to or Bank drop-down menu (depends if you're pulling up an expense or an income transaction).
Click Save and close.
Editing the transactions might be feasible than starting over again. If this is your first time setting up your account and adding transactions, starting over can be an option. Check this article for more details: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.
