QB doesn't always behave properly just after install without a computer restart.

 

Try restarting your computer. Then try again.

Welcome to the Community. I'm happy to offer my assistance to keep your account from freezing up.

 

Here are the possible causes when the program is frozen:

 

  • Your company name may be too long
  • You may have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file
  • You may have corruption on your hard drive
  • Your program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system

 

We'll want to run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool (QBInstall Tool). This will help us identify any component issues related to your QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub if it's not already open.
  2. In the Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  3. Select QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  4. When the tool finishes, restart your computer and relaunch QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our customer support team. This way one of our agents will able to pull up your account in a secure session and check the root of freezing.  

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect. Phone support may be limited due to volume.

 

Keep in mind some options are only available at certain times. You can contact us every Monday to Friday from 6: 00 AM PST to 6:00 PM PST. Then, until 3:00 PM PST every Saturday.
