Use csv2qbo converter tool to isolate the problem.

Hi charmainestrange1. It looks like your CSV file has a formatting glitch that’s blocking the upload. We just need to tweak a few things to get your transactions into QuickBooks.

Did you get a specific error message? Usually, QuickBooks can’t read the data if the format isn't exactly right. Here are a few quick checks that fix most import errors:

  • Amounts: Remove all currency symbols ($) and commas. In Excel, right-click the Amount column → Format Cells → choose General or Number (without the currency).
  • Descriptions: Delete any special characters (like symbols or emojis) that could block the import. You can use Ctrl+H to find and replace them quickly.
  • Dates: Make sure your date column matches the format you chose during the upload mapping. In Excel, use the Number dropdown and select Short Date.

If the file appears correct, open QuickBooks Self-Employed in an Incognito or Private browser window, or another supported browser, and upload it there. Browser cache can remember a previous failed upload and block new attempts.

Refer to the following article on how you can resolve errors you'll encounter when importing bank statements to QBO: Common errors for importing bank transactions using CSV.
