Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @import trips.

The MileIQ csv file format that you're trying to import may have special symbols which are why you're getting this error. If that's the case, make sure to remove any unwanted symbols.

Here's a sample screenshot.

Once done, try to import them again to double-check. Here's how:

  1. In QBSE, go to the Gear (Settings) to get to the Imports.
  2. Select Import older transactions on the right for the account you want the transactions to belong to.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions, then hit Import to complete the process.

For further guidance, consider checking out this article: Import transactions from other sources.

Reach out to me if you have any other issues or concerns, and I'll get back to you right away. I'll be here to help. Have a good one!

good evening, I wanted to thank you for your info regarding this error code however, I'm still having issues with importing my CSV file from mileIQ to QBSE, I can get only so far until I get another error code "422" it keeps telling me that there's a date or amount that I need to check but I've spent about an hour and half scanning my CSV file and nothing is working.  can you help some more?

Thanks for getting back to us, MkMwoodworking.

Let's make sure that the date format on your CSV file is the same when you import it in QuickBooks Self-Employed. For example, your CSV date format is 04/07/2020 you should select MM/DD/YYYY from the date drop-down.

If you have 4 columns (Date, Description, Amount or Date, Description, Spent and Received) in your CSV file, then you also need to select them from the drop-down list. For 3 columns, you can add a negative (-) sign under the specific amount for expenses.

Otherwise, reach out to our Customer Care Team to check on your setup by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed. You can click the Assistant option or click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button at the bottom.
  3. Enter your question and click the Continue button.
  4. Select Start a chat.

You can always get back to us here if you have more questions or other concerns. Thanks.
