I can't seem to connect my company's hsbc bank account to QB online.

Are you getting any error messages when attempting to connect your bank? Any additional information will help me provide the best resolution.
In the meantime, try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses.
Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox or Internet Explorer).
Control + Option + P (Safari).
Once signed in, try to connect the bank again to double-check. Here's how:
In QBO, go to the Banking menu at the left pane to get to the Banking page.
Tick Connect Account then search for your bank.
Click Continue, then enter the bank's credentials and select the date range for the download.
If it works, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.
