I can provide information that will help you track sub-accounts and classes in QuickBooks Online.
You can create sub-accounts of any parent account to keep things organized and make more detailed reports. I've included the steps below to show you how to create one:
- Navigate to the gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
- Press new, then choose an account type and detail type.
- Check the Is a sub-account checkbox and enter the parent account.
- Give your sub-account a name, then click When do you want to start tracking your finances from this account in QuickBooks option.
- Press Save and Close.
To use the track classes function, we will first want to make sure its been turned on. Here's how:
- Go to the gear icon and hit Account & Settings.
- Select the Advanced tab, then click in the Categories section.
- Check the box beside Track classes.
- Push Save.
