Hi there, anne33.

Can you tell us what happens every time you import your transactions from Square? If you haven't tried it yet, please log in to your account on a private/incognito session. Then, try to import the transactions once again.

You can also use any of these compatible browsers to check if this is caused by a browser issue:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

If you can't still import your transactions, I'd recommend reaching out to Square so they can double-check on this. Go to this link and look for Contact in the right-hand corner: https://apps.intuit.com/app/apps/appdetails?shortName=app-b7qjt5yrgg&.

Also, the Sync with QuickBooks app only tracks one location at the moment. You'll need to manually separate the transactions in QuickBooks. More details about the current limitations are discussed here:

Keep me posted if you have other questions. We're always here to help you again.

Thank you JenoP.  I did call in and was told that there is an issue currently with importing Square transactions and that there is a ticket that was opened on 3/12 and that they are working on resolution.

So if I cannot import multiple locations I would be better off manually importing the transactions so I know I am getting all of them. Correct?

Yes. You're correct, anne33.

We can manually import the transactions into QuickBooks Online. Before doing so, there are some requirements needed so we can successfully import them.

The maximum file size is 350 KB. Then, the format should be either CSV (Comma-Separated Values), QuickBooks Online (QBO), or Quicken (QFX).

You can check with your bank if they can download the transactions using any of the three file formats.

Afterward, you're good to import them into your QuickBooks Online account. I'll show you how:

  1. In the Banking tab, select Banking.
  2. Click the File upload button.
  3. Click Browse, and then locate the file.
  4. Select Open.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select which account you want the file to be uploaded.
  7. Hit Next.
  8. Map the fields, and then Next.
  9. Review the transactions. Hit Next.
  10. Select Yes.

Then, you'll have to categorize them. This where you can assign a correct category type. You can check these articles for the detailed steps on how to categorize:

There you have it, anne33. You always have me in case you need my help in categorizing the transactions.
