I have a 2012 PC QB for my company and a new online QB started in 2019. Can I upload the old version without combining them. Is there an increased fee for doing this?

Migrating your 2012 QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online will create a new company file and it will not be combined with your new QuickBooks account. Thus, you'll be paying for two subscriptions.

To create a new company file, here's how:

1. Go to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/.
2. Click the Plans & Pricing link at the top-left corner.
3. Choose a plan and click the Buy Now or Try it free button.
4. Under the Sign up with email button, click the Sign In link next to Adding a company to an existing account?. 
5. Log in using your Email address and Password.
6. Click the Buy Now or Continue with trial button.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your new company.

You can also use the same login credentials when creating a new QBO subscription. This way, you'll have access to all your QBO company file under one login credentials.

You should open your old company file on the trial license of QBD 2020 prior migrating to QBO.
