I have a beginning balance as of 12/31/2018 for one of my credit card accounts but when I go to reconcile Jan., 2019 , the beginning balance shows as 0.00. Why?

Let me guide you in reconciling your account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

If it is your first time reconciling the account, you'll need to enter the opening balance. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts under Company Settings.
  3. Locate the account in the Chart of Accounts.
  4. From the Action column, select View register.
  5. Check the account's opening balance.
  • If it's incorrect, you'll need to edit it.
  • If there isn't one, you'll need to enter it.
