I have a RED ! ALERT! on my home page "update Credit Card"I have logged in and updated my card and the alert is still there, How do i remove it?

Hello there, janine6.

The payroll alert message will show up if the automatic renewal wasn't successful. This can also happen if the system was not able to charge the monthly usage fee due to outdated billing information.

We can get rid of this alert by going into the same process of renewing it through the Subscription Alert on the Payroll Center.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Employees menu and click Payroll Center
  2. From the Subscription Statuses menu select Update Credit Card.
  3. You'll be routed in the QuickBooks Payroll Account Maintenance page where you can log in to our Intuit Account
  4. In the Service Information Section, click the Reactivate link.
  5. Let's review the information and click Proceed to Checkout
  6. Select the Payment Method and update if needed.
  7. Enter the Card Security Code and then click Submit
  8. Select Continue and click Place Order
  9. Hit Next and then Return to QUickBooks

After reactivating, we can run the latest payroll tax table to stay up to date. You can also look into this article on how to manage our QuickBooks Desktop subscription and services

I'm here if you need anything else. Thanks!

Welcome to the Community thread, @kebenj.

I'm here to help get rid of this red alert showing on your homepage. Even if you've successfully updated your credit card information, the alert will still show based on the following reasons:

  • QuickBooks is not updated.
  • Intuit is having trouble getting authorization with your payroll billing information.
  • You're using an incorrect Payroll tax table version.

First, verify the status of your payroll by performing these steps:

  1. Go to the Employees tab.
  2. Click My Payroll Service.
  3. Find Manage Service Key.
  4. In the Status column, verify if it says Active.
  5. You can also view your subscription status by pressing Ctrl + K on your keyboard.
  6. If the status says Active, pick the Edit button.
  7. Push Next.
  8. Uncheck the Open Payroll Setup - I want to start the right tick box.
  9. Select Finish.

Next, be sure to update your QuickBooks version as well as your tax table. You will need to restart your computer after doing the update to complete the process. Once done, open your data file again and check if the alert is still there.

This information will help get you back on track when working within QuickBooks. If you have any other questions, you can reply below and I'll be here to help with anything you need.

I am having the exact same problem as OP, except when I try to login, the first time, after verifying my information, it takes me back to the login screen saying I "have to use the right Intuit account to proceed", when I am using the only Intuit account I have or know of, and the second time I try to login, it gives me an error message saying "The email and phone number don't match with the name you selected on the previous page. To resolve this issue, select Contact Us on the top right corner of this page."
