I have pending transactions dating back to May and I want to have them removed and the funds released how can I make this happen?

Hi there, Donatos.

Dealing with pending transactions can be inconvenient, especially when they interfere with your financial reporting or involve actual funds you're waiting for in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll guide you through the process of handling these transactions.

If "Pending" refers to transactions appearing in your Bank Feeds that are waiting to be reviewed and haven't moved to the Posted/Categorized tab, you can remove these transactions by excluding them.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Navigate to the All apps menu and hover over to Accounting, then select Bank transactions.
  3. In the Pending/For review tab, check the boxes for the old transactions from May.
  4. Select Exclude from the banner that appears.

Please note that this process removes them from your Pending/For review tab list without affecting your register.

Meanwhile, if you processed a credit card or ACH payment through QuickBooks and the status is "Pending" or "Withheld," Intuit’s Risk/Compliance team holds the funds. Since these date back to May, this means a document request was missed. You can check your Merchant Service Center to find these pending transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your Merchant Service Center account.
  2. From the Activity & Reports menu, select Transactions.
  3. Click the Dates dropdown menu to change the date needed. You can filter any six months in the last 12 months.
  4. If you want to, select the Show advanced options to do a specific search using the transaction ID and expiration date of the card.
  5. Select Search.
  6. Once you find the transaction, you can:
  • Select the transaction to see more details about it.
  • Select the small gear icon to see your receipt options, print, or reverse the transaction.
  • Print the report or export the data as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

If you meant something else, please refer back to this thread so we can provide you with all the information you need. Have a great day!
