Transferring your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) on a new computer is pretty easy. Just make sure that you have your product and license info available. Then, download your version of QBDT and save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
Also, follow the steps in this article to create a backup company file on your original computer: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Once done, here's how to install it:
- Open the file QuickBooks.exe you downloaded.
- Follow the onscreen instructions. Accept the software license agreement and then select Next.
- Enter your Product and License numbers. Then tick Next.
- You have two options for installing QuickBooks: express, or custom and network.
