I imported all my customers incompletely and I want to know how to remove all my customers to import them correctly.

Hi, gerrymafera-gmai.

I'm here to provide steps on how to delete the imported customer's in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You have two options to delete the imported customer's information in QBO either delete it one at a time or by purging the account.

Here's how to delete:

  1. Go to the Sales tab on the left side.
  2. Select the Customer's button.
  3. Double click the customer's name, then hit Edit
  4. Hit Make in Active or Delete.

But purging an account only works if the QBO data is less than 60days and if you're using QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions. By doing this, the system deletes all data entered into the company, and you're unable to restore them.

If you want to continue this process, you can follow the steps below. But before doing that, make sure that there's no online banking connected.

Here's how to purge:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
  3. Example: URL shows https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, change to https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  4. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted.
  5. Type the word “YES” once the data gets deleted, then hit OK.
  6. Tap Wipe Data.

However, if it's more than 60 days old, you have an option to cancel your account and start a new subscription. For details about the process, you may check out this article: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.

Also, you can export some of your lists to Excel so you can import them easily to the new company. Take a look at this article for more details: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.
