I can imagine how inconvenient this is for you. Please know this isn’t what I want you to experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Generally, if you were logged out to your account due to inactivity, QBO will still save the data. This way, you can continue with your progress when you log in back. Just ensure to sign in back a minute after your account is logged out. After an hour, QBO will no longer have those data.
Nonetheless, I have some steps we can perform to isolate this issue. Let’s open your account in a private window (incognito). There are times that the browser is full of saved files that help load the page faster on your next visit. Overtime, it gets outdated which can cause issues and affects your account performance.
Using a private window doesn’t save any data files at all. Thus, it is a perfect way to helps us verify if this is a browser cache issue. To start, you can follow these keyboard shortcuts in opening a private window depending on the browser you’re using:
For Google Chrome browser, press keys: Ctrl + Shift + N
For Mozilla Firefox browser, press keys: Ctrl + Shift + P
For Safari browse, press keys: Command + Option + P
Once in a private window, try to create some transactions to double-check. If it doesn’t delete your progress, I suggest clearing your browser's cache. This will delete all save data files and make your browser to function seamlessly.
If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers. That way, we can see and check if this is a browser-integrated issue.
