I'm missing my Running Balance Column in my Check Register. How do I fix it?

I can help you sort this out, @sharen-hagerty.

You can see two sets of balance in the register, the QuickBooks Balance and the Bank Balance. Let's make sure that both of these are displayed in your register.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Choose the Chart of Account tab.
  3. Click the Setting (Gear) icon above the Action column.
  4. Put check marks on the QuickBooks Balance and Bank Balance boxes.

If the issue persist, let's make sure to view your account's register using a private browser. This way, we can isolate this unexpected behavior for a browser-related. You can use either of the following shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: Press CTRL  Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If you’re able to able to access your account, you'd want to clear the cache of your regular browsers. You can also try using a different browser. Lastly, to check any issues with your browser’s health and its compatibility with QuickBooks, you can use the Browser Health Checkup Tool.

On the other hand, I've added these helpful articles about configuring the Register:

Swing by here if you have other questions in navigating around QuickBooks. I’m always here to help.
