Hi ask4,

You may have backed up your company file before. Try finding the latest backup file and restore it in the new version of QuickBooks. If you don't have one, please contact our Support team, so they can help you convert your file. They are open on weekdays from 6 AM to 6 PM PT.

  1. Click on this link: https://intuit.me/3aoO8ls
  2. Make sure to select QuickBooks Desktop for Mac and hit Continue.
  3. Select the Install and update topics.
  4. Scroll down and click Start a message.

On the other hand, Mac is constantly updating their operating system which caused incompatibility with the older version of QuickBooks. Because of that, I'd suggest enabling the automatic backup feature to prevent scenarios like this in the future.

Feel free to share an update about your company file. We're just around if you have other questions.

You should upgrade your file on the trial version of QBD 2019 and 2021 prior to migrating to QBO.
