I need to undo my last three months of bank reconciliation. I go to reconcile, history by account. I go to view report but do not have the undo option

I need to undo my last three months of bank reconciliation. I go to reconcile, history by account. I go to view report but do not have the undo option

I've got two options to ensure you can undo your bank reconciliation, @jflink.

 

The Undo option for a reconciled period is only available in QuickBooks Online Accountant. Thus, your first option is to invite your accountant to your company and let them undo the reconciliation at once. Let me show you how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon ⚙️ at the upper-right corner, and then select Manage Users.

  2. Go to the Accounting firms tab, and then enter the accountant's email.
  3. Tap the Invite button.
  4. Enter the needed info, and then hit Save when you're ready.

Once done, please have your accountant accept the invite. Then, he/she can now get started with the undo reconciliation process.

 

Your second option is to undo the reconciled transactions one at a time. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account and tap View register

  3. Choose the transaction you want to unreconcile.
  4. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
  5. Pick the box and keep clicking it until the box is blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  6. Click Save, and then close your register.

You'll also want to view, print, or export your reconciliation report to save a copy on hand. To achieve this, just click the History by account option on the Reconcile page. Please see the screenshot below for visual guide:
