I reconciled October 2019 and now that is missing. I tried to reconcile Nov and not all of the transactions are showing up. When I go to expenses, transactions...

they are listed as a C (cleared) which means I already started November reconciling, which I had, but now that's missing too. Where is it?

Let me provide some insights about missing reconciled transactions in QuickBooks Online, @mtbagelca.

Here's the possible reasons your reconciled transactions are missing from your reconciliation report.

  • An accountant user undo the reconciliation or change the status of your reconciled transactions.
  • Your reconciled account is mixed with a different transaction account.
  • The reconciled transactions were deleted from the reconciled account.

With QuickBooks, you can verify who made changes to your account by viewing the Audit log. Here’s how to check:

  1. Choose the Gear Icon.
  2. Select Audit Log.
  3. Click the Filter button.
  4. Choose Reconciliations under Events.
  5. Click Apply.

If the transactions were deleted, there would be a need to re-enter those transactions manually or reconcile it again.

Once you're done reconciling your account, you can run the reconciliation report. This way, you can print or export this to have a copy of outside QuickBooks.

Please feel free to get in touch with me here for any additional assistance you need with the reconciliation. I'm always willing to help you. Keep safe.

I reconciled October 2019 and now that is missing. I tried to reconcile Nov and not all of the transactions are showing up. When I go to expenses, transactions...

Hi, thanks for the info. I had already checked the audit log and did notice someone changed a few things a day or two after I reconciled October 2019 and worked on most of November 2019. When I view the transactions for October, they show "R" for reconciled, but when I go to reports and reconciling reports, nothing it listed. Some of the November transactions already marked as C or cleared.  Now when I try to reconcile November, I'm missing my undeposited funds, checks and other withdrawals/fees that were all there the first go round when I was working on reconciling November (now gone). Any ideas? The transactions weren't deleted b/c they are there. If the reconciliation was deleted, why are they still showing as "R" for reconciled? I only work nights/weekends so this is very frustrating. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Thanks.

Thanks for coming back, @mtbagelcafe. I'm here to clarify and more insights about the reconciliation report in QuickBooks Online.

The reconciliation report won't change regardless you delete or edit any transaction in it. It always shows the reconciled transactions through the reconciliation process. While other reports will show the actual status of the transaction.

Now, let's go back to your Audit log and verify to check some changes made in the Reconciliation History individually. Here's how:

  1. On the Audit Log page, select the Filter button.
  2. Choose the Reconciliations under Events, then click Apply.
  3. Locate and select the transaction to open it, then click More, and select Audit history.

That will display a history of all changes made to your transactions. You'll find the Reconcile changes in the CLR column. Once done, recreate what was changed based on the history and manually reconcile them so you can move to your next reconciliation. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account and select View register
  4. Select the transaction you want to reconcile.
  5. Keep clicking the field in the Check column until you’ll see an “R.”

I'd also recommend consulting your accountant to make sure that your books are accurate.

For future reference, read through this article: Fix issues while you're reconciling in QuickBooks Online. It has a step-by-step guide in case your transactions in QuickBooks Online doesn't match with your bank statement.

Thanks for the info. I tried the audit log/filter that you mentioned and it comes up blank, so I can't recreate transactions. I then did the chart of accounts, account, view register and the transactions that I recall reconciling are already showing an "R" for reconcile. The November transactions that I started to reconcile, show "C" for cleared, I think.  That being said, why can I not locate the October reconciliation and the November transactions that I already did when I tried to recreate the November reconciliation? So I just noticed in the Undeposited Funds account not only are October transactions marked with an "R", so are November and December! Now how is that possible if I didn't even get that far?  Don't think anyone else reconciled those months b/c that's what I'm trying to do. Not to mention, the recs don't show up in reports. This is very confusing. I've already reviewed the fix issues when reconciling article.  Any additional help would be great. Thanks.
