Hello,

Here is the article on how to download items from your bank when it hasn't pulled from the initial connection.

Let me help you sort this out, @crisgrace.

QuickBooks depends on what your bank shares with us. With this, I'd suggest logging in to your bank's website to check the transaction dates. Here are some factors that you'll need to consider when downloading bank transactions:

  • Some banks and credit card companies don't post transactions for download until later in the day or the next morning.
  • Some banks will show a transaction on their website but won't download the transaction until it posts.
  • If the missing transactions are the most recent ones, wait at least 24 hours in case your bank doesn't make them available immediately.

Can I ask for the name of the bank you're using? This will help me check for any ongoing investigations related to your bank. In the meantime, you can check on your Bank Register and see if it's filtered for a specific date of transactions.

  1. From the left menu, select Accounting.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Select the bank account from which transactions are missing.
  4. From the Action column, select View register.
  5. Sort the register by the entries in the Date column.
  6. Select the Filter icon, above the Date column.
  7. From the Reconcile Status drop-down menu, choose All.
  8. Select Apply.

You can read through this article for more detailed instructions: Bank transactions are duplicates, missing or wrong, or bank balance not updating.

Also, you can try manually updating your connected bank account to trigger updates on it. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Choose the Banking tab.
  3. Locate the bank account where the transactions are missing.
  4. Click Update.
  5. Select Update Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
  7. Click Continue Update.

If the transactions are still not downloaded, you'd want to download it directly from your bank's website in a file that QBO supports, like a CSV file. Once completed, you can import it. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Import Data.
  3. Select Bank Data.
  4. Click the Browse button.
  5. Locate your downloaded file, and click  Next.
  6. Select the bank account, and click Next.
  7. Map the columns, and click Next.
  8. Select the transactions to import. and click Next.
  9. Click Let's go!.

Once completed, you can now start reviewing and categorizing your transactions. You can read through this article for more details: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Did you get a response? I finally was able to talk to QB on chat after 2 days of trying to connect because I have 8 months of data that seems to have gone missing (july 19-March 20). She said it started October 5th and gave me an INV number. I keep trying to confirm if the data had been there prior or never downloaded those months. The rep said the data had been there. Is that what happened to you or was the data never there? The engineers are supposedly working on a fix as it is only related to Capital One and QB. Has your situation been resolved? Very frustrating experience overall with QB these past few months...
