Hi there, @jeff-cragle-pres.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows you to edit any transactions at any time. To secure and make sure that there is no editing of transactions on a specific period, you can use the Close the books feature. But this will be applied to all types of transactions. Closing your books means locking everything entered before the closing date.

To do so, please refer to these steps:

  1. In the upper-right corner, click the gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab,
  4. Under the Accounting section, put a checkmark in the Close the books box.
  5. Enter the Closing date.
  6. Set whether or not a password is needed to change closed transactions.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Hit Done.

Good day, jeff-cragle-pres.

If the bills and bill payments are yet to be imported into QuickBooks, I'd suggest contacting Transactions Pro to help you finalize the transactions you just edited. However, if they're already in QuickBooks and you edited it from there, just click Save or Save and close on the Bill or Pay bill page.

@jeff-cragle-pres

Define "finalize". You have to import the Bill data first Then you are able to import the Bill Payment data.

Everything seems to have come in ok. I see the bill, the bill payment, and the check is in the checkbook transactions. What concerns me is that I can edit the amount on either the bill or the bill payment. Am I missing a step that says this transaction is complete and can't be editedbill payment.png

Hi jeff-cragle-pres, once you edit the information on the preview page before importing you can readily import it. Please do a test Import and see if it works. Glad to assist you.
