I want to download business transactions from an account I will not be using moving forward. Can I download and save the transactions, then remove the bank?

Yes, you can definitely do this in QuickBooks. Once you download transactions from your bank into QBO, then you have an option to inactivate your account after. QuickBooks will keep your transactions, so your reports and tax forms remain accurate.

 

To inactivate an account, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts under Your Company
  3. Find the account you want to delete.
  4. Select the drop-down in the Action column, then choose Make Inactive
  5. Click Yes to confirm the action.
