Once you're ready, first thing we need to do is to download and install QuickBooks Desktop. If you don't have a license to QuickBooks Desktop, you can download the QuickBooks Desktop File Restoration Tool for this process. In QuickBooks, proceed to File and select Close Company. Leave QuickBooks Desktop open while you complete the rest of the steps.
Then, sign in to QuickBooks Online and download the migration tool.

Which QB Desktop year version do you have? You can only purchase a one time license for QB Desktop 2021 or the subscription license for QB Desktop 2022/2023 Pro from partners at this time.

After transferring your data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), your QBO account will still be accessible if you change your mind. You're only moving your data, not changing your subscription. However, it's important to note that any changes made in QBDT won't automatically sync to QBO.

You should have the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 Pro to convert data from QBO if you prefer to use QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus. If you use the trial version of Enterprise, you must purchase a 3rd party downgrade service later.

You can purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data with a single currency to QB Desktop 2020 or 2021.

If you want to move your data from QBO, it's recommended to use the QBDT-supported version to access the newest features and product enhancements since QBDT 2019 is no longer supported.
Once you have your product and license number, we can proceed with getting the installer by going to the Downloads & Updates page. Then, let's install and set this up on your computer.

The best route would to be use the newest supported version of QuickBooks Desktop, which would be 2024. Anything later than 2021 version may have complications arise when performing the downloading process of the data.

You need to use a supported version to convert data (i.e 2022-2024). If you want to use your old QBD 2020, you can purchase a 3rd party conversion service. Contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for details.
