I would like to delete all transactions and accounts from my QBO account and start fresh for 2021. Is there an easy quick way to delete all data?

Do you only need to remove one of your bank accounts or reset all data in your QBO account? If you are using QBO Simple Start or your QBO account is > 60 days, you should open a new blank QBO account.

I would like to delete all transactions and accounts from my QBO account and start fresh for 2021. Is there an easy quick way to delete all data?

Let me guide you to delete all your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), hffmncpa.

We can purge your company file if your QBO subscription is less than 60 days old. Though it won't cancel your QuickBooks or payroll subscriptions, however, you'll have to reenter any employee or historical info you want to keep. This process completely clears out your books. Before doing this, just move your lists to a new company file to save time by reusing the lists from your old company. Here's how to purge the company file:

  1. Sign in as the admin in QBO.
  2. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. Delete all the text after the last / and enter purgecompany.  For example: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage (before). Then, https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany (after).
  3. To confirm you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
  4. Press Wipe data. Once the process is finished, you can start your books from scratch.

If your QBO is more than 60 days, just sign up for a new account using your existing login credentials. Please follow the steps and details in the If your books are 60 days old or older section in the Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online article.

Feel free to visit our Account management page for more insights about managing your Intuit Account.

You can always update us on the result of this troubleshooting in the comment below. I'd like to ensure this is resolved for you. You have a good one.
