If I delete a deposit from checking, will it go back to undeposited funds?

I'm needing to delete a deposit made to the checking account. What is the best way for me to do this? I would like for it to go back to undeposited funds. Is this possible?
I have made two separate deposits in QB and have one deposit for these in the transaction list from the bank feed.
1 customer/deposit in QB = $100
1 customer/deposit in QB = $87
Transaction in the bank feed is $187 total deposited into the bank.
When I go to match the 2 transactions to the deposit it won't allow me to do that. What is the best way for me to correct this?

Made Correctly doesn't tell us How it was made. If every time you try to use Make Deposit, you are presented with that pop up, then the deposit was not Made Correctly, previously, or there are duplicate entries, perhaps. Open your Deposit and use Ctl H to see if it includes the Payment against that invoice or not.

Hello delete a deposit,

Thanks for joining us here in the Community. I'd be delighted to guide you through deleting a deposit in QuickBooks.

To start off, which QuickBooks product are you using? If you're using QuickBooks Desktop, you can delete the deposit from your Undeposited Funds account.

Here are steps to walk you through:

  1. Go to Lists at the top menu bar, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Scroll down and double-click the Undeposited Funds to open the register.
  3. Look for the payment you've deposited (there should be DEP in the Type column).
  4. Double-click the amount to open the deposit (see the first two screenshots below).
  5. On your keyboard press CTRL+D.
  6. Click Ok in the Delete Transaction message.

Meanwhile, if you're using QuickBooks Online, you'll want to delete it from the bank account you've used to deposit the payment.

To do so:

  1. Go to Accounting in the left navigation panel, then Chart of Accounts
  2. Look for the Bank Account you've used, then click View Register
  3. Locate and click the deposit.
  4. Choose Delete.
  5. Pick Yes in the This is just one part of a split transaction. Deleting it will remove the whole transaction. dialog box (see the third screenshot below).

You can now be able to permanently delete those deposits.

Feel free to get back in touch with me if you have any other questions, I'm always here to help.

  2. Click the drop down arrow next to Batch actions and select Excluded Selected.
  3. Go to Exceled tab and put a check mark on the transactions.
