Importing bank .qbo files get message "Contact your Finacial Institution

QuickBooks For Mac 2016. Normally I would;

1)download a qbo file from my bank website

2) In QuickBooks I would go to Banking --> Downloaded Transactions -->Import a QBO Statement file

And my transactions would be In QuickBooks

Now I started getting the message "QuickBooks was not able to complete your request. Please contact your financial institution".

I called my financial institution and of course they claim it is not on their end.

I also upgraded to QuickBooks for Mac 2019

Thank you in advance for your response

Let's work together in fixing the error message you're getting, @Chaz B.

Most common banking issue is resolved by downloading a new fidir.txt file. To run this tool, you'll have to close your QB Mac first, then follow these steps:

  1. Save the QuickBooks Desktop 2019 fidir.txt file on your Desktop. To save, hold the Control key when you select the link.
  2. Move the old fidir.txt to the Trash and empty it.

    Location 1

    1. Hold the Control key. From the Finder▼ drop-down menu, select Go, then Library.
    2. Go to Application Support/com.intuit.QuickBooks20XX/Downloads.
    3. Drag the fidir.txt file to the Trash.

    Location 2

    1. From the Finder▼ drop-down menu, select Go, then Applications.
    2. Hold the Control key, then select your QuickBooks version.
    3. Select Show Package contents.
    4. Go to Contents/Resources.
    5. Drag the fidir.txt file to the Trash.
  3. Paste the new fidir.txt file in both locations (Downloads and Resources folder).

Right after, you're ready to import the .qbo file.
