Importing Bank Transactions

I am a QB beginner--Is there a way to include the payee of checks in the data that is imported into my QB Pro Desktop? I can download the QB file from my bank but when I import the file it only shows check number, amount, and date. I have to manually go in and input the payee and category. It would be so much easier if I didn't have to go in and manually do this for 1000 checks. Thoughts?

The data that can be imported into QuickBooks Desktop depends on your financial institution. There are some banks that the Payee will be included as long as the name does not exceeds to 32 characters.

I recommend reaching out to your bank so you'll be guided on how you can import the transactions together with the name.
