In Quickbooks Online how do you undo a reconciliations?

Hello there, Anna. Let us work together to undo your reconciliations in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, QBO doesn’t offer a direct option to undo an entire reconciliation. However, you can manually unreconcile transactions one at a time through the account register.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Choose the account that has the reconciled transaction. Then, View register.
  4. Locate the transaction to edit.
  5. In the reconcile status column (indicated by a checkmark), repeatedly click the box until it changes from "R" to blank.
  6. Once done, Save.

Before manually unreconciling, you can visit this article for detailed guidance: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.

If you have an accountant who uses QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA), I recommend consulting them as they can easily undo an entire reconciliation in one step, avoiding the need to adjust transactions manually and ensuring the changes are accurate and do not disrupt your records.
