Is anyone having an update QuickBooks now window consistently on the screen when opening up for the first time each day, but no update when run it?

You should never see an update window for QBO (online) but a while back I did experience exactly what you describe with Desktop version. I think I had to repair my install to fix it. Try that protocol outlined here.

What john-pero mentioned is correct, that's if you're accessing your account on a browser only. If you're using QBO Window App, you'll need to update it to the latest version.

 

You can follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Help menu.
  2. Select Check for Updates.
  3. If you're in the latest version, you'll see a message that says There are no updates available, you have the latest version of QuickBooks!.
  4. If not, follow the on-screen instructions to update it.

If the prompt persists, we can do a few basic troubleshooting steps to fix it. First, let's restart your app by clicking Help, then Reset App Data.

 

Next, let's clear the cache. Go to the File menu, then click Clear Cache. Too much unnecessary stored files will impacts the apps' performance.
