Hi pawsvetinfo,

 

May I know what challenges you've been through when you connect your PayPal account? Do you get an error message? Any additional details about this will be appreciated.

Is anyone having trouble connecting to paypal to upload transactions?

Yes, I get an error code 103.  When I go in and try to update my sign-in info, I get to the point where is says that that Paypal is trying to text me a code (but I do not get the code from Paypal). 

 

I can log into paypal with no problems (and they do send a code to my phone before I can log in).  But I cannot connect Quickbooks to Paypal to update my data (now 13 days yikes!).

Let’s make sure to enter your login credentials manually instead of having the browser to fill in this information.

To update your sign in info:

  1. Go to Banking from the left panel and select Banking.
  2. Go to your PayPal account and click the pencil icon. Select Edit sign-in info.
  3. Enter your credentials then hit Update.

Yes, I've done that several times.   I enter my username, password, it asks if I'm a robot, sometimes it has me identify pictures, and then it asks for the password that paypal has texted me (I am not getting that text from paypal, although when I log into my paypal account directly I do get the text and have to enter the code before I can log in).  

 

I am going to try contacting paypal and see what they can do to help?

Yes, have done all of that.  It gets to the point where it asks me for the code that Paypal has texted me (which I don't get from paypal).  It's my number, and the same number that Paypal uses to test me the code when I log directly into our paypal account.  So maybe I need to contact Paypal to see what is gong on?

At this time, our product engineers are already coordinating with PayPal for a fix. As a workaround, you can consider importing your PayPal transactions manually in QuickBooks.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your PayPal's website, then download the transactions to your computer.
  2. In your QuickBooks Online, go to the Banking page.
  3. Click the drop-down beside Update, then select File upload.
  4. Browse your downloaded file and click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions, then click Let's go.

Also, to ensure you'll get an update about the resolution status, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team. They have to collect personal data to add your company to the list of affected users and provide this investigation number for easy tracking: INV-40315.

If I follow the manual process will that also record  the sales receipt with the details of the sale (eg. State, sales tax, etc)

Hi @memoryformemory,

 

The manual process will allow you to record the amount in the sales account as deposited to your PayPal account, in regards to the taxes, you can add this taxes after you add the transaction.

 

If you need to use the product and services, then we need to create an invoice/sales receipt manually then match this to your PayPal account manually uploaded file.

At this time, our engineers are still working for the permanent fix to get can get back on track. In the meantime, you can manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

I haven't been able to upload my paypal transactions since January 20th, I have reported it and tried the same routes as you but still it isn't working.

I've checked the investigation number INV-40315 and the status is still In-Progress. Our Product Engineers are actively working on a fix of the issue. 

 

As a workaround, you can manually upload and add transactions to account register in QuickBooks Online.

This is really unacceptable how long this has been going on. How will QBO compensate for the prolonged issue with connecting PayPal? I have clients whose entire business is in PayPal.

What on earth is going on?

Over a month now and the same 'our engineers are working diligently' reply.

If you can't fix a connection problem within a month then that doesn't inspire much confidence in the platform!

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

 

I am about 1 day from switching to freshbooks. 

 

I have had NOTHING but serious issues since signing up for quickbooks a few weeks ago. Paypal STILL wont work clearly for ANYONE. I have called and emailed multiple times with no change in issues. 

 

This is unacceptable.

At the time of this writing, the investigation for the issue with Paypal connection is still in progress. While we haven't received any updates as to when will be the exact time for the resolution to be available, rest assured that our engineers are continuously working on an immediate fix.

 

I understand you just want to connect your account and back to work, and it's my priority to make sure this gets resolved.
